Review of Portland Woodchamber by Boozoo Bajou on Modernsoul

    By remote viewer | July 13, 2009

Nearly missed this deep diamond. Intense dub, widely spaced and melodic on a slow burn into your soul. An air of chilled out menace permeates this monster track, lurking with intentions of making you move your feet. Everything gets a bit filmic when the keys start trickling as the percussion kicks in. The vocal makes me think of smokey rooms and ghetto poets, but that could just be my white boy sensibilities and the badness of the bassline. Either way 4 minutes passes in a muted flash and you’ll be clicking play like a claustrophobic in a broken lift.

A very large tune, on a mission to move you, with a feel of the beats from the legendary On U Sound stable in the 90’s. A little bit Prince Fari, all late night and wired for vibes.

    Rewind dreamy selector.
