Review: ‘Woodchunk’ by Orjan Nilsen on Armada

    By djmarcsky | November 8, 2008

    Orjan Nilsen- WoodChunk

After the success of La Guitarra, Orjan Nilsen had a lot of expectations riding on the follow up tracks. WoodChunk oozes productive professionalism, not only by changing the dynamics of the sound to that of La Guitarra but it has still captured the elements which brought the success of its predecessor. This is a lot more driving with heavier techno effects and deeper basslines.  However the progressive and uplifting trance fans will love its break down to build up midsection to which then kicks back to the familiar techy sound finale. Don’t expect this to be as uplifting as its predecessor; however what this track does is bring Orjan back to a more ‘underground’ sound after the huge exposure La Guitarra brought. 4/5
