Label of the week - Hammer Records

    By BeatsTom | October 23, 2008

With over 38 releases to date, Hammer Records is run by DJ Lux (aka Heathen) and was born as the digital arm of Raw Recordings (www.rawrecordings.co.uk) back in August ‘07.
Based in Liverpool but with artists as far a field as Canada and Brazil, the idea was to make available to the public their vast archive of music which was previously unreleased. Hammer has since taken on the dnb download scene with some massive releases over the last 14 months. Even so, Hammer has really stepped up the pace of late.
With artists such as SENSA, DJ RUSTY, WOBBLE T, HEATHEN, DAWN RAID (among others….) they have something for everyone - if you like your dnb you’ll love what’s been, and what’s en route.
Planned releases for the coming months are DJ Dose’s massive “Beat Root EP” which will be dropping this month (31st Oct), followed next month by more from Heathen - “Land of the Rising Sun EP”. Soon after they will be releasing their ‘08 Hammer label Mix - a chance to hear everything that is forthcoming on Hammer with a few of our classics thrown in for good measure.
Also due for release on Hammer is the full Raw Recordings back catalog, with tracks from Sol an Xample (Ram records current golden boy) DJ-Lux, Dawn Raid, DJ Target and Dose there’s have a whole host of goodies on offer to you which were only previously available on 12″ vinyl.
Today sees Heathens “Leap of Faith” (plucked from the “Leap of Faith EP”) splashed on the BD home page, but to be fair it was a nightmare to choose - simply put, they’re all belters - check the catalogue out and you’ll see where we’re coming from…. DnB paradise!
