door. Presents // Never Grow Up – Friday 7th November @ Cosmobar

To start with, a massive thank you to all the DJs and party heads alike who made door.s first ‘Never Grow Up’ night which was also my Birthday party a knock out success! I could not have enjoyed myself more while the 10 hours of quality underground music flew by with plenty of hands in the air, floor filling shenanigans. With such great feedback we wasted no time getting our next instalments ready and raring to go so we can get you all rocking like the first time, all over again!
On Friday 7th November we are back taking over the basement of Clerkenwell’s Cosmobar, and have lined up some more of our favourite DJs on the scene taking you through a journey of some of our favourite music genres…
Kicking things off will be our new recruit Sai, an upcoming hip-hop DJ who will be showing us his fun loving style of old skool hip-hop with a smattering of breaks, an ultra cool opening set guaranteed by this ultra cool dude. And our resident Paul-TJ who will be moving things up a gear, supplying party vibe electro breaks while we all make good use of the happy hour and get our dancing shoes well and truly warmed up!
Next up is another member of door. favourites Illicit Audio – John Kirven. Illicit Audio are a group of DJs who produce some stunning house music across all definitions, and when they mix out they do not restrict themselves on what style of house they play – All that matters is that they get the party into uncontrollable good times, and with John planning to smash out the best of his deep and tech house hoards for a couple of hours it will be time to get on that dance floor for some serious booty shaking.
Bridging the gap between Friday night and Saturday morning will be a set of eclectic ear carnage by POGO DJs. After hearing these guys play at a number of breaks orientated nights this year we were gagging for them to come and throw some cross-genre magic at Never Grow Up. Thankfully even though they are busy rolling things out for their new night south of the river called Kik Bak - a house, techno and electro night @ Brixton’s Plan B we have managed to secure them, so they can blow you away with their transforming style Optimus Prime would be proud of; jumping between genres you can expect everything from techy, twitchy and jacking house muddled with breaking, fidgeting, head bopping beats. An energetic set bound to make the dance floor go crazy coconuts and the perfect way to lead us into a BIG ONE…
A set of pure, unadulterated, strictly breakbeat business with Supatronix head-honcho Jurrasik. He’s been throwing SupaT parties for years over 4 years now, providing the best of electro shocking breaks to a consistently up for it crowd who will keep on coming back for more of the Tronix vibe and insanely good resident DJs. You won’t find anything but the broken beats in this set.. but man!! will they be BRUTAL! Bones will be shaking with Jurrasik’s relentless pace and malice as he shows us exactly why we love the SupaT brand so much …. lovely jubbly!
And to finish things off the right way we have invited back some of my oldest friends and September crowd pleasers; DJ Freefall and MC Skywalker from Birmingham DnB movement Skeptic. Their back to give you the best of their jungle and drum and bass and keep you raving like you never knew you could right to the end of proceedings. These boys are throwing some spot on parties at the infamous Custard Factory and their uncompromising style is reassuringly big, bad and heavy with a mix of old and new, every drop will craze the party collective.. dance till you drop stuff! Can’t bloody wait!
All this and more good news!!! as not only is it FREE all night for people ready to party with a smile on their face, but we have secured Happy Hour till 10pm with lots of lovely drink promotions for you all… Credit Crunch? Bollocks to that!
We’re going to Never Grow Up and rock your socks right off mate!
